Samar elections generally peaceful

Catbalogan City (11 May) -- No unfortunate nor untoward incident took place in the eve of the synchronized local and national elections according to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Samar Provincial Director.

In a text message, PNP Provincial Director Pancho Hubilla confirmed that there indeed was nothing unusual to mar or disrupt the electoral process.

It will be recalled that PNP Samar Beefed up its forces some three days before the election.

Some 420 uniformed PNP personnel were deployed proportionately to Samar municipalities for police visibility, security of voters and security of election paraphernalia.

Hubilla added that since Samar is peaceful, he will order the return of 420 argumentation forces to where they once belonged. (PIA-Samar) [top]
