Tagalog News: Farmers and Fisherfolks Month ipinagdiriwang ngayong buwan ng Mayo

Koronadal City (19 May) -- Ang buwan ng Mayo ay ideneklarang Farmers and Fisherfolks Month.

Kaugnay nito, pinangungunahan ng Department of Agriculture ang pagdiriwang sa buong bansa sa temang: "Magsasaka at Mangingisda, Sama-samang Harapin ang Climate Change Gamit ang Makabagong Teknolohiya".

Ayon kay DA-12 Regional Executive Director Tommy A. Ala, dito sa rehiyon iba?t-ibang aktibidades ang itinakda.

Isasagawa ang opening ceremony sa May 18 araw ng Martes sa tanggapan ng DA-12 sa Gensan Drive corner Zulueta Street Koronadal City.

Tampok sa opening program ang Misa bilang alay kay St. Isidore, bilang patron saint ng mga magsasaka.

Idinagdag pa ni Director Ala na magbubukas din ang tiangge at exhibit ng mga produkto ng mga magsasaka. Magkakaroon din ng distribution ng leaf color chart at Minus-one-element technique o LCC-MOET sa mga partisipanteng lalahok sa mga technical session.

Magiging bahagi rin ang technical session on high value commercial crops and livestock at Climate Change, its Effect on Agriculture at ang pagtalakay sa DA Climate Change Adaptation Plan and Research: its Roll in Climate Change.

Bahagi rin ng pagdiriwang ang pagbigay pugay sa mga Gawad Saka Outstanding Farmers sa May 31.

Samantala, magkakaroon din ng sports fest sa May 24-28.

Kaugnay nito, pinapaalalahanan ni Ala ang mga concerned participants na dumalo sa pagdiriwang na ito. (DA12/PIA SarGen) [top]
