SRTC posts statistical training opportunities for 2010

Cebu City (19 May) -- The Statistical Research and Training Center (SRTC) has now posted its course offerings for 2010 in its website srtc.gov.ph.

Courses include Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), Statistics for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, and Database Management Using MS Access.

It will be recalled that the SRTC had conducted two of its modules in the region last year, with LGUs and regional line agencies as participants.

The conduct of these modules namely on Poverty Analysis and on Basic Statistical Analysis Using MsExcel were coordinated by the RDC Secretariat.

The Central Visayas chapter of the Philippine Statistical Association (CV-PSA) is scheduled to conduct its first Convention on July 30-31 at the Holiday Plaza Hotel in Cebu City.

ibeeth Guevara, CV-PSA Chairperson said the convention theme is "Strengthening the Statistical Capability in Researches for Visayas Regional Development Goals".

The convention aims to present researches done by the local government units and academe in the Visayas region.
