Tagalog News: PGMA pinasinayaan ang Opao Bridge sa Zamboanga del Norte

Manila (19 May) -- Pinasinayaan ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ang walumpu't walong metrong Opao Bridge sa Barangay Opao sa Zamboanga del Norte na mag-uugnay sa Regions 9 at 10 kahapon.

Nagkakahalaga ang nasabing tulay ng P71 million mula sa bridge program ng British government.

Layon ng tulay na ito na maging mura at mapabilis ang transportasyon ng mga mamamayan at ng kalakal mula sa Mindanao sa pamamagitan ng roll on roll off (RORO) station sa Dapitan patungong Luzon at VIsayas.

Sa siyam na taong panunungkulan ng Pangulo, naglaan ito ng P19 billion sa pagpapatayo ng mga infrastructure projects sa rehiyon na nagresulta ng pagkatanggal ng Zamboanga del Norte mula sa sampung pinakamahirap na mga probinsya ng bansa. (BDEnestois/PIA12) [top]
