Justice Corona's appointment may favor fight of 16 cities - Lammawin
Tabuk City, Kalinga (21 May) -- The appointment of Senior Associate Justice Renato C. Corona as the new Supreme Court Justice could bring better chances for the 16 cities that include Tabuk gain its cityhood status.
Tabuk City Mayor Camilo Lammawin Jr. said this with optimism, citing that the new Chief Justice is one of those who have shown support for the 16 cities in their fight for their cityhood.
In his message during the regular flag ceremony last May 17, Lammawin called on the employees to pray harder especially that there is a big possibility that the new Chief Justice may be a favorable development.
"Hopefully, with the appointment of Chief Justice Corona, the problem in the Supreme Court will be strengthened in favor for the 16 cities," he said.
He appealed that the employees and the new officials should support each other in said endeavor.
With a new set of officials, he asked the city workers to unite and reconcile and move forward together for the betterment of Tabuk City.
He likewise called for all to prepare and cooperate for the success of the upcoming City Founding Anniversary and Matagoan Festival in June.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo appointed Corona as the 23rd Chief Justice last May 14 replacing Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno. (ggdumallig/PIA-Kalinga) [top]
