Caroline Sperling, DED's Civil Peace Service (CPS) Program Coordinator oriented the officers and members of the field office's staff on the basic information on DED partner cooperation and the Civil Peace Service.
She said DED believes development intervention (DI), which can differ in size and can include one or more different projects and partners, is a joint project or program of the German Development Cooperation in cooperation with partner organizations, donors or third parties. Sperling emphasized that Civil Peace Service contributes to non-violent conflict resolution and sustainable and just peace.
In his short message, Mr. Ulrich Krausse, Civil Peace Service expert assigned to DSWD expressed that "I am happy to work with DSWD." Mr. Krausse will report to DSWD on June 1, 2010.
The DED through its Civil Peace Service Program and DSWD Caraga forged their partnership to work along conflict transformation and peace building for a period of two (2) years. The DED is the newest partner of DSWD Caraga in social welfare and development work. (DSWD-13/PIA-Caraga) [top]
