PDEA nabs dealer in buy-bust operation
Tabuk City, Kalinga (29 May) -- A police buy-bust operation spearheaded by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) here resulted to the arrest of an alleged drug dealer last Thursday, May 27.
A certain Noel B. Joven, 27 of Purok 3 was captured in possession of at least 0.2 grams sachet of shabu worth P500.00.
Police say that Joven was caught on the act selling the crystalline powder of Methamphetamine more popularly known as "shabu" to an undercover agent posing as a buyer.
Aside from the shabu and the P500.00 bill used in the buy-bust operation, the police has also confiscated from the suspects one unit Samsung SGH cellular phone believed to be Joven's means of contacting buyers and a Honda wave 8685BH.
Police are now working on filling a case against the suspect for violating Republic Act 165 section 5 article II or the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Joining the PDEA during the entrapment operation were member of the local police, officials from the Prosecutor's Office and the media.
