by Ben Moses Ebreo

Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya (May 31) -- The naming of the road project barangay Belance here will be one of the congressional moves of Representative Carlos Padilla once he will step into congress in July this year.

"This will be one of my first bills to work on once I will be in Congress," Padilla said in a statement here.

Padilla was referring to the recently-inaugurated 13.86 kilometer Belance-Bitnung farm?to?market road here which was formally opened by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The P330 million road project will link upland farmers, mostly indigenous people to the urban towns in the province, specifically cut travel time and expenses.

Padilla also expressed gratefulness to President Arroyo for the completion of the road project in the province.

According to the solon, he Bitnung-Belance road project will be named GMA national secondary road in barangay Belance.

He also touted President Arroyo for her various infrastructure projects which earned her the road builder of the country.

"History will be very kind to you. Anything that you do for Nueva Vizcaya is a great thing to our heart," Padilla also stressed.

The Bitnung-Belance FMR was committed by President Arroyo in 2008 during the 70th birthday of Bishop Ramon Villena.

The road project was funded under the government's General Appropriations Act. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
