Permanent position mulled for casuals long in gov't service
Lingayen, Pangasinan (1 June) -- Provincial employees who have rendered long years in service but without security of tenure may now have the chance to be given permanent position.
Provincial Administrator Rafael F. Baraan said during a recent flag raising ceremony that Gov. Amado Espino, Jr. had indicated his desire to provide security of tenure for employees who have rendered exemplary service to the provincial government for years now.
Baraan said that the provincial government is already coordinating with the Civil Service Commission for a possible special schedule of civil service examination exclusively for the concerned employees.
A CSC eligibility is required for a plantilla position.
Baraan said that this undertaking is part of the governor's thrust to raise the quality of performance of each employee so as to render excellent and better public service.
Meanwhile, the provincial government has already released the mid-year bonus of some 3,000 permanent and casual employees. This is half of the regular 13th month pay and cash gift of P5,000. (PIO/PIA Pangasinan/dos) [top]
