Asian Dragon Magazine features Dipolog mayor

Dipolog City (2 June) -- After giving the people of this city pride and hope in winning her second term in the recently held national and local elections, Mayor Evelyn T. Uy has once again bestowed upon the Dipolognons a mark of distinction for being featured in the latest issue of the Asian Dragon Magazine, the first bilingual business and lifestyle magazine in the country.

In its March-April 2010 edition, the Asian Dragon Magazine cited Mayor Uy for having steered Dipolog into becoming one of the most peaceful, clean and progressive cities not only in Mindanao but in the whole country as well.

Under her stewardship, Dipolog was hailed as a booming city especially with its Spanish style bottled sardines industry.

As a mother of seven children, Mayor Uy pledged to give priority to to education programs especially for those out-of-school youths.

She also planned to continue giving scholarships to the young livelihood and skills development training.

Mayor Uy ran under the Liberal Party of president-apparent Benigno C. Aquino III in the last election. (PF/PIA-ZN) [top]
