DepEd thanks 'Brigada Eskwela' volunteers

Tuguegarao City (2 June) -- Parents, teachers, elected officials, armies, police and other volunteers has joined forces in the conduct of "Brigada Eskwela" in all public elementary and secondary schools in region 2.
Mrs. Clarita Lunas, Education Program Specialist of Department of Education Region 2, expressed her sincerest gratitude to every individual who participated in the brigada eskwela to clean, repair, repaint and set all things for the opening of classes on June 15, 2010.
Lunas said brigada eskwela now is becoming an avenue for all concerned individual to apply bayanihan system in order to make the school conducive for learning for the students and pupils of the region.
"Almost 90 percent have already finished the brigada esakwlea and the rest are on-going. I can say that we are now ready to welcome the learners for this school year," Lunas said.
She said aside from parents of students, some police and armies has volunteered in the activity and many elected officials also extended help to fulfill the objective of the brigada.
Other than this, Lunas also reported that there are some Local Government Units who extended support in the rehabilitation of some classrooms, repair of facilities and provision of other needed materials and facilities of students.
Meantime, Lunas appealed to all parents to send their children in school and prepare their needed materials and uniforms.
She further informed that the social action centers in every district schools are now open for any queries, questions or clarifications from Deped officials. (PIA 2) [top]
