PhilHealth to hold forum with employers

By Rachelle M. Nessia

Dumaguete City (June 2) -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) here is set to meet with employers in the city and neighboring towns during a Forum on the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP).

The forum will be held on June 29 at Plaza Ma. Luisa Suites Inn from 1:15 to 4:30 p.m..

Maritess Que, local PhilHealth Officer in Charge, said that around 100 employers in the city and neighboring towns have been invited to the forum.

Que explained that the forum is done every year on a quarterly basis with the aim of updating employers on new Philhealth developments and to address concerns on the membership, contribution and benefit availment of employees.

During the forum, Philhealth will make a presentation of its program participation, membership and contribution and likewise address concerns such as what can members expect from the agency when they reach their age of retirement, and if they resign or is terminated from their employment, can they continue with their PhilHealth membership.

Que stressed that they will address concerns from local employers over PhilHealth issues during the open forum.

PhilHealth has conducted a similar forum in Siquijor earlier this year wherein 40 employers participated.

Similar forums are also planned for Tanjay for the third quarter and either Bayawan City or back to Dumaugete again during the fourth quarter of this year. (PIA) [top]
