by Oliver T. Baccay

Tuguegarao City (4 June) -- The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) Region 2 is set to conduct search for the Best Provincial Team under the project guardians awards to strengthen project monitoring and evaluation system at the provincial level.

Mr. Dindo Calabazaron of DILG Region 2 said, at the regional level, the operation of the Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System which includes report generation, problem solving sessions and project inspection has been generally proceeding satisfactorily; however, some provincial team at the provincial level were inactive and not submitting reports to the RPMC.

"It is in this context that the search for best provincial team under project guardians award shall be undertaken to encourage the team at the provincial level to work and submit reports on their monitoring activities", Calabazaron stated.

He said the teams from the 5 provinces shall be weighted according to criteria set which include the impact, facilitative measures or problem solving sessions, support of Local Chief Executives, organizational compliance, meetings conducted, submission of reports, and initiatives along monitoring and evaluation.

The search covers a period of one year, starting from September 2010 and will culminate on September next year in time of the Regional Development Council Week celebration.

Calabazaron added that certificates of recognition will be given to the best team and also to the members of the team. The evaluators are representatives from the National economic and development Authority (NEDA), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and Department of Interior and Local Government.
