Feature: SPES Comval aims different, makes difference
Compostela Valley (16 June) -- Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) becomes an institution in the province, giving opportunities to students who wanted to earn money during summer. SPES program started last 1998 until at present.
SPES grantees since the program started 12 years ago conducted series of voluntary activities cum community service in their respective Municipalities as a way of expressing thank you to the provincial government.
This year, SPES grantees both old and new conducted feeding activity cum gift giving in Gawad Kalinga (GK) Nabunturan and Barangay Hall of Cabidianan Nabunturan, Planting Herbal Plants cum feeding activity at GK Canada, Dauman Montevista, Tree Planting at Riverside Poblacion Mawab, Gift giving at Nuevo Iloco Mawab, feeding cum gift giving at Bongkilaton, Ngan Compostela, volunteer building houses at GK Monkayo and GK New Bataan, cleaning the new planted trees at Mapawa, Maragusan.
Giving assurance that there is really program continuity in the provincial government, the HRMD office in partnership with PESO provincial office organized the grantees forming officers per Municipality and giving them chance to plan and set goals for their group in the next 2011 summer SPES.
This years SPES was culminated last May 31, 2010. It was a whole day affair with full of fun and memorable events to cherish. They had a SPES Got Talent and Search for Ms. SPES Macho Gay 2010.
