NYC-7 to launch 'Search for 10 Best Youth Organizations'

Cebu City (18 June) -- In celebration of its 15th year anniversary, the National Youth Commission (NYC) will launch today the '8th Search for the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO)' at SM City Cebu.

NYC-Visayas Commissioner Benjie Oliva will grace the event at 2:00 p.m. where an inspirational message and testimonial will be given by a selected representative from the TAYO-7 National Finalist Pas-Asa Youth Association ? Talisay City Chapter.

The TAYO program seeks to award, recognize and encourage youth organizations in their initiatives to effect positive change in their localities.

Representatives of Region 7-based youth organizations that have reached the national finals will be present this afternoon to encourage the youth audience to take part in community service and vie for a TAYO award in the future.

Other NYC programs will also be promoted especially how the youths have benefited from their various programs.

The launching of the TAYO Award is the second promotional event in the Visayas.

Also expected to attend this afternoon are Dept. of Social Welfare and Development-7 Regional Director Evelyn Macapobre, SM City Cebu Assistant Mall Manager Theresa Mempin, SK Lapulapu City Federation Pres. Reymar Dico and SK Liloan Federation Pres. Gianne Sanchez. (PIA-Cebu/FCR) [top]
