Antique joins Agraryo Trade Fair
San Jose, Antique (21 June) -- Antique's Agrarian Reform Communities (ARC) join this years celebration of 9th National Agraryo Trade Fair, where country's best products from Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) will be showcased at SM Mega Mall, Mandaluyong City on June 25-27.
Among the products to be displayed during the fair are hand woven products from Igbalangao-Bagtason ARC such as patadyong, shawl, scarf, hats & polo barong. Aureliana-Apgahan ARC in Patnongon will also showcase muscovado sugar, the province' banner product for OTOP (One-Town-One-Product) and Squash Cantoon with Malungay and Saluyot from Igpalge-Magtulis-Esparar ARC in Barbaza, Antique.
Vicky O. Sandoy, Provincial Marketing Assistance Officer of Department of Agrarian Reform will facilitate the display of this products during the Agraryo Trade Fair with the theme "Umuunlad na Kabuhayan Masaganang Sakahan, Tugon sa Globalisasyon at Nagbabagong Klima".
In the previous years during the 19th anniversary celebration of Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, mixed vegetables pickles from Nagbangi I Agrarian Reform beneficiaries Multi-purpose Cooperative in San Remigio was adjudged as 2008 Best Pickles nationwide, while hand woven patadyong with design received a special award in handicraft during the 2003 Agraryo Trade Fair.
This year's Agraryo Trade Fair is also in celebration of the passage of Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) with Extension and Reform. (LM/DAR/PIA) [top]
