PGMA to attend testimonial meet for RDC-2 Chair Bishop Ramon Villena

Tuguegarao City (21 June) -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is set to visit Cagayan to attend the testimonial program for Bishop Ramon Villena in the Regional Development Council (RDC) meeting on Tuesday, June 22.

Arroyo is expected to arrive at the Tuguegarao City airport at 10:00 o'clock in the morning and immediately proceed to Kamaranan hall, Capitol Hills.

She is expected to welcome by Governor Alvaro Antonio, City Mayor Delfin Ting, Undersecretary Monina Plan and other officials, at the airport. Bishop Villena and the regional directors of different line agencies will also receive the President at the Kammaranan Hall.

This visit is perhaps the last visit of President Arroyo in her administration before she finally turns over her responsibilities to the new president of the country.

Villena stood as the chairman of RDC for how many years. Lots of development projects and programs were accomplished during his term such as infrastructure projects, agricultural production enhancement, investments, tourism promotion and many others that have contributed much to the development of Cagayan Valley Region.

During the program, 3 officials from different sectors and the President are expected to deliver testimonies for Bishop Villena.

Initially, PGMA is also set to informally open the celebration of Aggao Nac Cagayan (foundation day of Cagayan) on June 22 together with Local Chief Executives of different municipalities ready for its formal opening on June 23.

The president is also expected to fly back immediately to Malacanang at 11:00 a.m. to attend the regular cabinet meeting. (PIA 2) [top]
