"Oplan Musika laban sa Sunog" gains acceptance in Caraga

Butuan City (21 June) -- "Oplan Musika Laban sa Sunog", a different way of fire safety and prevention information awareness drive to the public, continues to cross various places in Northeastern Mindanao (Caraga region).

The project, the brainchild of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) regional director Warlito P. Daus, has continuously been engaging activity in the different parts of the region and has gained positive acceptance.

Daus said the active organizer and lead singer of BFP Caraga General Alarm Band expressed optimism that the endeavor could be more effective in making people fire safety conscious.

The live concerts will not only entertain people but also remind them on how to keep lives and properties safe from the destructive fires because, during the concert, BFP will be discussing and distributing leaflets on fire safety measures at home and workplaces.

"This BFP Caraga General Alarm Band is not only entertainer but most importantly educators," a local official said.

BFP band is available for free in different occasions region-wide, Daus said.

Interested parties who want to avail of the free live concert can make a request to BFP regional office here.

Meanwhile, two Caraga BFP personnel made it to the top after recently graduating a Fire Protection Supervisory Course (FPSC), a schooling course and training at Philippine Public Safety College in Laguna and Cagayan de Oro City.

The two topnotch BFP personnel are SF02 Bomen Lofranco, chief of BFP Caraga Public Information Service and SF01 Liezel Lisondra.

Daus will also award the two topnotchers for their exemplary accomplishment during the Monday regular flag-raising ceremony and program. (muc/PIA-Caraga) [top]
