Tagalog News: Bangit nagretiro; Ochoa pinangalanang acting AFP chief

Manila (22 June) -- Ngayong araw nakatakdang magretiro ni Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Delfin Bangit matapos inaprubahan ni Pangulong Arroyo ang kanyang early retirement matapos ang tatlumpu't anim na taong paninilbihan sa militar.

Itinalaga ni Pangulong Arroyo si AFP Vice Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Nestor Ochoa bilang acting chief base sa rekomendasyon ng AFP Board of Generals.

Nagdesisyon si Bangit na magretiro matapos inihayag ni President-elect Benigno Aquino III na hindi niya pananatilihin sa kanyang pwesto si Bangit kung siya na ang uupong Pangulo ng bansa.

Itinalaga ni Pangulong Arroyo si Bangit noong Marso 10 at nakatakda sanang magretiro sa Hulyo 2011.

Nauna nang sinabi ni Bangit na wala siyang pinagsisisihan sa kanyang desisyon dahil para sa ikabubuti ng Sandatahang Lakas ang kanyang pagretiro. Hindi rin niya tinuturing na sakripisyo dahil tama ang kanyang ginagawa. (DE Doguiles/PIA 12) [top]
