Earthquake drill in Nueva Vizcaya improving, claims disaster exec

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (June 28) -- The recent earthquake drill in the province was a success and an improving response according to disaster officials here.
"Our recent earthquake drill was participated by 90 percent of our targeted stakeholders and our performance is improving," said Evaliza Agamata, provincial disaster management officer here.
Agamata was referring to the simultaneous nationwide earthquake drill in June 18 which was participated by national as well as local government agencies at the provincial capitol here.
Agamata said the drill focused on the general participation of the employees and officials on their response during the warning, deployment to their respective evacuation centers and head counting.
According to Agamata, the recent performance of the province was already improving compared with the first conduct of the earthquake drill this year.
She also expressed optimism that the next earthquake drill, other weaknesses will be improved.
"We will be having a scenario to assess our operational capabilities as well as our awareness and preparedness on the next drill," she said. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
