NYC now accepts entries for TAYO search

Zamboanga City (28 June) -- Attention all youth organizations of this city, the search is on for the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) Awards for the year 2010. Entries for the 8th TAYO Awards is now being accepted.
TAYO awards is aimed at recognizing efforts of youth organizations whose projects have significant impact on the community and whose members are working in the spirit of genuine service and volunteerism.
Entry form can be downloaded at www.youth.net.ph
Deadline for submission of entries is on July 30, 2010. Entries can be submitted at National Youth Commission (NYC) office located at Rm. 308, 3rd flr, Jose Go Huillo Bldg., Tomas Claudio St., this city.
TAYO was launched in 2002 by the Office of Senator Francis ?Kiko? Pangilinan in partnership with the NYC. Its main objective is to encourage youth participation in nation-building.
TAYO seeks to recognize and award youth organizations who have projects for their respective communities which address youth issues in the area of environment, health, education, employment, and values participation.
Now on its 8th year, TAYO created a new set of criteria to make the search more relevant and these criteria include:
Impact of the project entry on stakeholders; harnessing the spirit of volunteerism and citizenship.
Creativity and innovation; Sustainability and effective use of resources
It can be recalled, El Consejo Atenista of Ateneo de Zamboanga University, a youth organization here in Zamboanga City was a recipient of TAYO awards in 2009. (JPA-PIA ZC) [top]
