PopCom 2 sets July 16 deadline for entries in Search for Best Population Award

Tuguegarao City (28 June) -- The Commission on Population Region 2 (PopCom 2) has announced that entries for the Best City and Provincial Population Officer should be submitted to POPCOM Regional Office 2, Tuguegaro City on or before July 16, 2010 while entries for the Best Responsible Parenting Movement (RPM) Team should be submitted on or before July 31, 2010.

The Search for Best Population Officer aims to give due recognition to the Best City and Municipal Population Officer who have significantly contributed in the implementation of the Philippine Population Management Program in their respective LGUs.

In an advisory emailed to PIA, it stressed that qualified nominees for this Search are the City Population Officers and Municipal Population Officers who have been appointed or designated at least 3 years (2007-2009).

On the other hand, the Search for the Best RPM team aims to give due recognition to the Best City and Municipal RPM Team who have significantly contributed in the promotion of Responsible Parenthood and Natural Family Planning Program in their respective locality.

The qualified nominees for this search are City and Municipal Responsible Parenting Movement Teams of Region 02 composed of the City/Municipal Health Officer, City/Municipal Agriculture Officer, City/Municipal Social Welfare & Development Officer and City/Municipal Population Officer who are implementing RPM activities from January 2008 to December 2009.

The winners in the two searches will be given certificates of recognition and cash prizes and consolation prizes will also be given to the non-winners. (PIA 2) [top]
