BIR Bacolod exceeds collection target
Bacolod City (29 June) -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue, Revenue Region No. 12, Bacolod City, surpassed its cumulative collection target for January to May 2010 by 17.37% after successfully implementing its various programs launched during the regional tax campaign held early this year in Bacolod City for Negros Occidental and in Dumaguete City for Negros Oriental.
Regional Director Araceli L. Francisco lauded the individual and joint collection efforts of the four (4) revenue district officers who put these programs into action by adopting different strategies to enhance collection performance for the first semester of 2010.
They are Revenue District Officer Atty. Cynthia T. Cabuguas of Revenue District No. 76, Victorias City; Revenue District Officer Ms. Lilivic M. Gatdula of Revenue District No. 77, Bacolod City; Revenue District Officer Atty. Arturo A. Acabal of Revenue District No. 78, Binalbagan; and Revenue District Officer Mr. Cresencio A. Agad of Revenue District No. 79, Dumaguete City.
The programs undertaken by the said revenue district officers were: OPLAN KANDADO Roadshow; massive tax information drive, the "One-Stop Shop" implemented in all cities/municipalities; linkages with city/municipal treasurers and assessors; tax mapping operations, tax information campaign and withholding tax of political candidates during the May 2010 Elections.
Other programs include enforcement of summary remedies on delinquent taxpayers; monitoring of VAT taxpayers, top 20,000 corporations and top 5,000 individual taxpayers, and withholding tax on NGAs, LGUs, and GOCCs; documentary stamp tax on certificates/diplomas, monitoring of one-time transactions; and investigation of taxpayers with substantial accumulated earnings.
