PNP Tacloban arrests rugby dealer, buyer
Tacloban City (September 8) -- Members of the Tacloban City Police Office Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) and Intelligence Section apprehended one rugby buyer and rugby dealer in the afternoon of September 2 at the Old Bus Terminal, Reclamation Area in Tacloban City on.
PSInspector Ma. Bella Rentuya, PCR chief of Tacloban City Police office, informed that the team led by PSInsp Evelyn Perpinan acted promptly after a receiving a tip from a confidential informant at about 2:50 in the afternoon.
Upon arrival at the area, the team saw a woman handing down to man transparent cellophane filled with substance suspected to be rugby.
The police operatives immediately nabbed the suspected dealer and seized from her actual possession and control one piece of 1.5 liter plastic bottle of silver swan filled with rugby.
Also found in her possession were one pack of transparent cellophane and thirteen pieces of transparent cellophane placed in a plastic container.
The suspects were accosted at the Tacloban City Police Office and based on the investigation conducted, the alleged rugby dealer and buyer were properly identified and interrogated.
PSInspector Ma. Bella Rentuya, informed that as of press time, the suspects are now currently detained at the Tacloban City Police Station lock up cell.
A case for violation of PD 1619 was subsequently filed against the suspects at the Tacloban City Prosecutors Office. (PIA) [top]
