BIR awards top taxpayers during 106th anniversary

Negros Occidental (8 September) -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue Region No. 12 celebrated its 106th Anniversary with the awarding of its top taxpayers, supporters and model employees.

The celebration and awarding was held at its newly constructed building in Jocson-P. Hernaez Extension in Bacolod City where 13 top taxpayers, 3 BIR supporters of BIR Revenue District No. 77 were recognized.

The 13 Top Taxpayers are:

  • Top Individual Taxpayer: Edgar T. Sy;

  • Top Corporations: Kooll Company, Inc.; Mandalagan Commodities, Inc.; and Island Merchants Corporation;

  • Top Local Government Units: Province of Negros Occidental; City Government of Bacolod; and City Government of Silay;

  • Top Government-Owned & Controlled Corporations: Bacolod City Water District; National Food Authority; and Sugar Regulatory Administration;

  • Top National Government Agencies: DECS Division of Negros Occidental; Department of Public Works & Highways, 1st Engineering District of Negros Occidental; and DECS Division of Bacolod City.

    The three BIR Supporters are: Harris N. Nandwani; Philippine Institute of Public Accountants (PICPA) Negros Occidental Chapter; and Negros Occidental Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice Association, Inc. (NOCPAPPAI).

    The Regional Office also awarded Plaques of Appreciation to the three HANDANG MAGLINGKOD PROJECT Judges who included Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Negros Occidental Chapter President Atty. Juliana B. Carbon, Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Negros Occidental Chapter Board Director Atty. Jonathan N. Ealdama, and Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc. Director Mr. Arturo A. Golez.

    These judges evaluated the performance of identified frontline BIR offices in the implementation of taxpayer service related activities and determined the four revenue district offices of Revenue Region No. 12 which are best able to meet the prescribed performance standards.

    Certificates of Allegiance were also given to BIR employees who have rendered 30 years of revenue service, and Plaques of Appreciation awarded to BIR Model Employees who have shown excellent character and exemplary performance of duties and responsibilities in the revenue service.
