CFO to conduct community education in Quirino, Cagayan provinces
Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (September 8) -- The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) is set to conduct a community education program in the provinces of Quirino and Cagayan provinces scheduled next week.
The community education program of the commission seeks to assist prospective migrants in making informed decisions regarding settlement abroad, as well as to generate community involvement in migration concerns.
The program of the commission also aims to raise public awareness on various issues concerning migration, intermarriage and existing government policies and programs directed against illegal recruitment, documentation fraud and human trafficking.
Experts from the commission will be visiting the municipalities of Aglipay, Cabarroguis, and Diffun in the province of Quirino and in Tuguegarao City, Gattaran and Aparri in Cagayan and will be holding dialogues with local officials and to concern local government agency heads regarding the implementation of the commission's programs.
The group will also be facing academic officials and students in the three municipalities where they are expected to explained the different programs and projects of the commission.
CFO employees will be at Quirino and Cagayan province on September 12 to 19, 2010 and they will start the community education program in the municipality of Aglipay, Cabarroguis and Diffun before proceeding to Cagayan province for the next education program. (PIA Isabela) [top]
