ZamboSur, Pagadian City chief executives support NERBAC
Pagadian City (15 September) -- Zamboanga del Sur Governor Antonio H. Cerilles and Pagadian City Mayor Samuel S. Co expressed support for the National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center (NERBAC) which was launched by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office on Monday (Sept. 13) at the DTI conference room.
NERBAC was created through Republic Act 7470 of 1992 with the aim to provide comprehensive and highly integrated business support services to prospective investors/entrepreneurs with basic information on various business options that are open for them in accordance with the investment priorities of the government.
"The provincial government of Zamboanga del Sur under the stewardship of Gov. Cerilles declares support for NERBAC," Vice Governor John C. Regala said. "As an anti-red tape entity, it will help promote diverse investment potentials of the province," Regala added.
"On behalf of the officialdom of Pagadian, I declare our full support for the NERBAC," Mayor Co said, "Pagadian as a component city of the province is a willing partner in this endeavor," Co emphatically said.
The formal declaration of support of the executives and other partner- agencies was made thru the signing of pledge of commitment with DTI Provincial Director Ma. Socorro M. Atay, assisting.
Regional Director Nazrullah B. Manzur was very happy with the support shown by the provincial and city government, the national and local government units during the launching ceremony.
Manzur hopes that NERBAC after it was first launched and established in Zamboanga City on June, 2008 and in Zamboanga del Sur over this weekend, will be launched subsequently in the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga Sibugay. (PIA, ZamboSur/GCC) [top]
