Agrarian reform beneficiaries reach 15,839, says DAR
San Jose, Antique (15 September) -- A Department of Agrarian Reform report showed that the agency here has distributed a total of 50,858 hectares of farmlands to 15,839 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
The Municipality San Remigio has the highest accomplishment in terms of land distribution reaching 18,532.7913 hectares. It benefits a total of 2,074 farmer-beneficiaries.
Other top towns on land distribution are Valderrama with 7,084.9398 hectares, Bugasong - 6,938.3925, Pandan-5,022.98.17, Patnongon-3,348.0418, Barbaza-2,589.3360 and Tibiao with 2,347.1278 hectares.
For leasehold operations, there are 5,487 hectares covered benefitting 3,963 ARBs. These farmers have leasehold contracts with their landowners.
