Nueva Vizcaya villagers get wheel chairs, medical, dental and surgical services

Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya (September 16) -- Hundreds of villagers in this town on Thursday received free government services through a medical, dental and surgical mission organized by Representative Carlos Padilla at the public gymnasium in barangay Poblacion here.

The provision of free government services, a yearly activity was made to celebrate the 66th birthday of Padilla where at least 30 wheel chairs were also handed to paralized villagers.

"This is our way of celebrating my birthday so that our constituents can also benefit from government services. I hope that I will have more opportunities so that we can serve all our constituents specially those living in remote areas where they seldom get free government services," Padilla said.

Padilla was joined by governor Luisa Cuaresma, vice governor Jose Gambito, provincial board members, municipal mayors and town councilors, barangay officials and non-government organizations in a public lunch.

During the activity, minor surgical operations were conducted to indigent patients, dental services were also offered including provision of free medicines.

The provincial government's mobile hospital was also brought to the site to provide support to the activity.

Health workers also provided free AH1N1 vaccination among government, non-government and community residents.

The solon said the activity is also one way of bringing government services closer to the community especially for the poor.

Villagers coming from the upland barangays of this town trooped to the public gymnasium to avail of free government services.

A yearly activity, Padilla's medical, dental and surgical mission including legal assistance had been conducted in almost 15 towns of the province.

The medical, dental and surgical mission was participated by national as well as local government agencies and units such as the Department of Health (DOH), Provincial Health Office (PHO), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Public Works and Highways(DPWH), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), National Food Authority (NFA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Nurses Association (PNA), Philippine Medical Association(PMA), Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Philippine Dental Association (PDA), Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), Provincial Veterinary Office (PVet), Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO), Provincial Cooperative Affairs Office(PCAO), Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) and local government units among others.
