Nueva Vizcaya PLGU allots more than P193M for infra projects

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (15 September) -- The provincial government here has set aside some P193 million to carry out the implementation of infrastructure projects in the province this year.

The fund, according to Engineer Dennis Naui, provincial engineer, will be spent for the concreting of provincial which covers projects for this year and 2009, rehabilitation/improvements of provincial roads, maintenance of provincial roads, flood control structures, construction of school buildings, calamity projects for 2009, municipal development assistance for 15 towns for 2010, maintenance of irrigation systems, upgrading, improvements of rural health units, and hospitals and other projects.

Under concreting of roads, 53 projects will be implemented this year with a total length 21.76 kilometers with P73.711 million, posting a 77 percent accomplishment funded by the province's 20 percent development fund, sangguniang bayan ordinance and municipal development assistance.

On Rehabilitation and improvement of project roads, 26 projects were lined-up this year with P5.76 million from the province's 20 percent development fund, registering 61 percent accomplishment.

Naui said 29 provincial roads are also set to be maintained this year with P1.7 million fund from the province's 20 percent development fund, earning a 3.5 percent accomplishment.

On flood control structures, 4 projects are lined-up this year with funding cost of P4.20 million from the province's 20 percent development fund with 100 percent accomplishment.

There are also 29 school buildings programmed to be built this year composed of 42 classrooms, 2 day care centers, 2 home economic rooms, 44 conference rooms and 1 Parents Teachers Association room funded with P41.8 million from the Special Education Fund (SEF) with 28 percent accomplishment.

On calamity projects for 2009, 30 projects are scheduled to be put up this year with P18.75 million funded by the 2009 calamity fund of the province highlighting 90 percent accomplishment.

On Municipal Development Assistance (MDA) 11 projects are underway this year, funded with P9.0 million by the MDA Fund for 2010 with 63 percent accomplishment.

On maintenance of irrigation systems, 56 projects are identified this year funded with P6.0 million with 26 percent accomplishment while there are also 10 projects lined up for the upgrading and improvement of RHUs and hospitals in the province funded with P2.8 million.

Naui said there are also other 32 projects funded with P33 million this year which will be constructed within the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital (NVPH), Kayapa Memorial Hospital (KMH), Lower Magat Eco -Tourism Park (LMETP) in Diadi town while a portion of the fund will be used for the Social Development Committee (SODCOM) projects.
