Private sector reps take oath before RDC Calabarzon
Calamba City (16 September) -- The Regional Development Council (RDC) Calabarzon administered the oath to 19 newly-elected private sector representatives (PSRs) during the 3rd quarter full council meeting recently at the Tandang Sora Hall of the TESDA Women's Center in Taguig City. The meeting was presided by Rizal Governor Casimiro Ynares III.
The new members are expected to addressing the needs of their sector such as fisherfolks, housing, and others.
In the meeting, each sectoral committee member gave updates on different issues. The Department of Health (DoH) IV-A presented an update on Dengue cases in Calabarzon. Based on DOH's presentation, a total of 69,594 patients were reported admitted in hospitals all over the country from January to August 2010.
From the reported patients hospitalized, 8,642 of these came from Calabarzon and 33 were reported deaths. Batangas Province has the highest number of dengue patients while the Province of Cavite has the highest confirmed deaths.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Railways (PNR), an attached agency of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) reported that the railways going to Bicol Region have been rehabilitated and the maiden voyage is tomorrow, September 17, in time for the Naga City Fiesta.
