Evardone bares infra projects for Millennium Challenge Funds

Tacloban City (29 September) -- Congressman Ben P. Evardone announced in public recently, the sites where the projects that are funded by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) of about $214M are intended to be implemented.
He said that the infrastructure includes a total of 221 km of road stretches from Buray to Taft for the first section; Taft to Borongan for the second section; Borongan to Quinapondan for the third section and Quinapondan for the fourth.
The Congresssman added that apart from the road world-class concreting, some 11 bridges in the province will be repaired, others will be totally replaced.
Evardone likewise plans to raise the thickness of the national road at Malinao-Burak, Taft, because according to him, when heavy rain comes, that portion of the road becomes impassable as it would be deeply immersed in flood waters.
He disclosed further, that the solicited funds from the US government was initiated still by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and was pursued by President Noynoy Aquino.
"Actually, the documents were all ready for signature in May, however due to some circumstances, it was reset to September", Evardone explained.
Cong. Evardone concluded by telling the public to be vigilant in this project implementation as he also assured that all biddings for these projects will all be done at the DPWH, Central Office in Manila. (PIA-Eastern Samar) [top]
