Nueva Vizcaya gov't agencies bare consumer welfare month activities

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (September 29) -- Visits to slaughter houses, public markets and symposium for technical schools among others will be the highlight of this year's Consumer Welfare Month Celebration here, officials of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said.
Juliana Alonzo, trade and industry department provincial director said the activities which were agreed by Consumer Net members during a meeting in Sept. 7 is in support of the Consumer Month Celebration theme: Consumers: Green Multipliers.
Alonzo said after the hanging of streamers and the launching of the celebration at the provincial capitol on October 4, inspection of slaughterhouses in the 15 towns of the province will be done to check the sanitation and other health hazards that may pose among consumers.
ConsumerNet members will also carry out market visitations in the towns of Solano, Bayombong and Bambang, particularly on rice stalls, Bagsakan areas and food courts.
The ConsumerNet members will also visit food processors of the province, particularly bakeries and buko pie producers including radio guestings, symposiums for technical schools and poster and slogan Making contests.
Members of the ConsumerNet are Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), National Food Authority (NFA), Department of Education (DEPeD), Provincial Veterinary Office (PVET), Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG), Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Philippine Information Agency(PIA).
