"Recognition and Prevention of Heart Attack" symposium held at Lorma

San Fernando City, La Union (29 Sept) - In the observance of the World Heart Day which was on September 26, 2010, the Lorma Medical Center, in collaboration with the Association of Regional Executives (AREX) in Region I, hosted a symposium themed: "Recognition and Prevention of Heart Attack", on September 29, Wednesday, held at the Lorma Heliport Conference, Carlatan, San Fernando, this province.
The beneficiaries for the event are AREX representatives and San Fernando Senior Citizens.
The forum was conducted by Dr. Brenda Espinosa, M.D., FPCP, FPCC, who with her expertise, shared the basic information on maintaining a healthy heart, normal blood pressure and blood sugar as well as cholesterol level.
Espinosa also discussed the various ways needed to be observed in preventing the occurrence of such diseases and attacks. Regular exercise, brisk walking in particular, is the first in the list of preventive measures, no-no on smoking and liquor, do away with too much sweets and fatty foods and more of veggies instead, avoid stress and always exercise the habit of smiling, regular intake of Omega-3 rich foods, and the like.
Aside from the discussion, a free FCFS screening for all participants were offered like Body Mass Index (BMI), Blood Pressure (BP) Monitoring, Cholesterol and Blood Glucose Test (HgT), and a two-day discounted consultation fee with Dr. Brenda Espinosa.
