Maynilad lays pipes in Las Piñas

Manila (29 September) -- The Maynilad Water Services, Inc. started laying eight kilometers of primary lines along the Alabang-Zapote Road to Daang Hari Road in Las Piñas City.

Maynilad started the pipe-laying project September, this year, to provide safe, reliable and affordable water to residents of Las Piñas by the first quarter of 2011. The project is part of Maynilad's master plan to bring water to Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, and parts of Cavite.

Last year, Maynilad's west zone concessionaire began constructing water reservoirs, pumping stations, and water treatment plant in various areas of Southern Metro Manila.

For 2010, Maynilad has set aside P6.6 billion for its capital expenditure projects, and over P1.7 billion will be used for the upgrading of water facilities and reaching out unserved water areas in the west zone which includes the following areas: cities of Metro Manila (except portions of San Andres and Sta. Ana); Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue; northern part of Quezon City from the districts of Holy Spirit and Batasan Hills); Makati (west of South Super Hi-way); Caloocan; Pasay; Parañaque; Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon.

Maynilad also caters to some areas of the nearby province of Cavite to include: Cavite City, Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario. (Maynilad) [top]
