OCD, disaster managers hold briefing on state of restive Mt. Bulusan
Legazpi City (9 November) -- Disaster managers in Sorsogon hold briefing on the status of restive Mt. Bulusan and contingency plans laid down by the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) in Bicol, led by Director Raffy Alejandro.
Dr. Ed Laguerta of Phivolcs briefed local officials and disaster managers on the state of the volcano noting that there was no swarm but a continued inflation and deflation due to some movements below the crater.
Police forces have established security desks, while alternative routes were identified.
DOH has also distributed one unit of nebuliser, 20 boxes of salbutamol, 40 copies of advisory materials during volcanic eruption and 40 boxes of dust masks.
All member-agencies of the PDRRMO were advised to coordinate actions and measures responding to the needs of affected residents.
At press time, no abnormal activity of the volcano was observed. (PIA) [top]
