Pateros government joins Facebook

Manila (10 November) -- The municipal government of Pateros has officially joined the social networking world after it created its own Facebook account for its constituents to have better access on the plans and programs of the local government.

According to Ms. Fe Alvarez, executive assistant of Pateros mayor Joey Medina, the creation of the Facebook account will also help the people of Pateros get updated on the latest events and activities happening around the municipality.

"We welcome the creation of the facebook account because it helps us disseminate faster all the activities and events of the local government of Pateros," said Alvarez, who is also in charge of the events in the municipality.

She said those interested in viewing the local government's account can just click on this link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pateros-Philippines/MUNICIPAL-GOVERNMENT-OF-PATEROS/128138590542666 to get the latest updates.

Among the latest events posted on the Pateros Facebook account include the recent opening of the San Pedro and Niyugan, barangay Sta. Ana multi-purpose centers, the PhilHealth registration and the "Serbisyong Mas na Mas" in Barangay's Sto. Rosarion Kanluran and Poblacion.

The creation of the Pateros Facebook account was initiated by the Pateros Planning and development office and officially opened last week. (PIA-MMIO) [top]
