Caraga PNP continues campaign vs illegal gambling

Butuan City (10 November) -- Elements of Tandag MPS led by SPO2 Loreto C. Suarez apprehended a certain Rea Mangmang y Corpuz, 53 years old, married and a resident of Purok Sonny's Farm, Brgy. Mabua, Tandag, Surigao del Sur at around 6:40 in the evening of November 8, 2010 at the abovementioned Brgy.

Said person was apprehended after having been caught in the act, engaging in illegal gambling activities known as "last two digits" and "suertres". Police officers were able to confiscate from the suspect the illegal gambling paraphernalia and P120.00 bet money.

On the other, a certain Amelia Adorable y Mollaneda, 39 years old, married and a certain Julian Cahilog y Gamale, 53 years old, married, usher and bettor respectively and both residents of Purok Saturn, Telaje, Tandag, Surigao del Sur were apprehended by the same elements of Tandag MPS at around 7:00 O'clock in the evening of same date at Brgy. Telaje of the said municipality. Said persons were being caught in the act engaging in illegal gambling activities known as "last two digits" and "suertres".

Confiscated from the possession of Amelia Adorable were illegal gambling paraphernalia and bet money amounting to P181.00, while confiscated from the possession of Julian Cahilog was one (1) piece filled-up receipt of the said illegal gambling.

Apprehended persons and confiscated items were under the custody of Tandag MPS for proper disposition.

Recovery of carnapped motorcycle

A concerned citizen informed Butuan City Police Station (BCPS) 1 thru a telephone call that a certain Jonathan Jumunong, of legal age, an Engineer and employee of Desmark Corporation found an abandoned motorcycle at the grassy portion of Emenville Subdivision, Brgy. Ambago, Butuan City at around 11:05 in the morning of November 8, 2010. Elements of Theft and Robbery unit of BCPO led by Police Senior Inspector Ronaldo V. Plaza responded to the said report and they recovered the said abandoned one (1) unit motorcycle, Honda XRM 110, color black with engine number XRM110ME-7198478, chassis number XRM13-065-198478 without plate number.

Follow up investigation is now being conducted by elements of BCPS 1 for the possible identification and arrest of the suspect/s while the recovered motorcycle was brought to BCPS 1 for proper disposition. (PNP-13/PIA-Caraga) [top]
