2-day jobs fair set in Surigao Norte
Surigao del Norte (November 10) -- A two-day Jobs Fair will be conducted on November 11 and 12 at the Provincial Sports Complex open grounds in line with the livelihood program of Gov. Sol Matugas.
Prov'l PESO Manager Emilio Pantejo said the activity was made possible by the provincial government led by the lady governor under her Health, Education and Environment, Agriculture and Aquaculture, Livelihood and Tourism, and Social Welfare, Security and Spiritual Renewal (HEALS) agenda through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in coordination with DOLE, TESDA, POEA, OWWA and some local mining companies operating the province.
Pantejo said at least 9 local and overseas employment companies from Davao City and Manila have already confirmed their participation for the said Jobs Fair.
Pantejo also said that there are around 3,000 job vacancies to be offered in the said activity. "We expect around 3,000 jobs available for this jobs fair," he said.
These jobs according to Pantejo varies from minimal qualification, such as cake decorators, flower arrangers, pipe fitters, welders, bus girls/boys, chefs, up to those requiring high degrees of skills such as teachers, nurses and other medical personnel, which are in demand today.
Various government line agencies like OWWA-Caraga will also provide an orientation about their newest program ? the HEALTHPRO or the Health Program for Overseas Filipino Workers.
Just recently, OWWA-Caraga has partnered thru a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Caraga Regional Hospital (CHR) as its medical institution partner for its HEALTHPRO. The HEALTHPRO is a subsidized medical and hospitalization services for OFWs who need medical treatment for illnesses contracted while working abroad.
Also, OWWA will give a free-demo on perfume making, hand sanitizer, among others to OFW relatives and friends. (PIA-Surigao del Norte) [top]
