Tagalog News: CCT budget maaaring kaltasan ng Senado

Manila (10 November) -- Hindi lang bubusisihin ng Senado kung paano gagastahin ang conditional cash transfer (CCT), plano umano ng Mataas na Kapulungan na kaltasan hanggang P15 billion ang naturang pondo, ayon kay Senate finance committee vice chairman Sen. Edgardo Angara.

Masyadong malaki ang pondong P21 billion para sa anti-poverty program, ayon kay Angara. Hindi umano ito "manageable" dahil sobra isandaang porsiyento ang itinaas ng nakalaang pondo kung ikukumpara sa kasalukuyang P10 billion budget para dito.

Ipapanukala rin ni Angara na ang iaawas na P6 billion sa CCT program ay gagamiting pondo para sa research and development o R&D ng ilang piling state universities at colleges, agriculture, health at mga research institutions sa ilalim ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Paliwanag ni Angara kailangang palakasin ang R&D capability ng bansa upang maipagpapatuloy ang paglago sa ekonomiya at makapagdulot ng mga pagbabago sa bansa.

Naniniwala rin ang senador na kailangang i-distribute ang budget sa CCT sa ilang departamento tulad ng education at health dahil mahihirapan umano ang DSWD na ang ganito kalaking pondo. (DE Doguiles/PIA 12) [top]
