Tagalog News: PHL malamang na ma-classify bilang FMD-free sa Disyembre - DA

Manila (10 November) -- Malugod na ibinalita ng Department of Agriculture na inaasahan ng kagawaran na mai-classify ang Pilipinas bilang foot and mouth disease (FMD)-free bago pa magtapos ang buwan ng Disyembre base sa resulta ng initial FMD screening ng livestock industry ng bansa.

Sinabi ni Dr. Rafael Mercado, chief ng livestock division ng DA sa Davao na inaasahan din nila na magpapalakas nito ang pork export industry lalung lalo na sa Davao Region at ilan pang lalawigan sa Mindanao.

Ibinalita din ni Mercado na hindi bababa sa tatlong pork exporters mula sa General Santos City kasama ang dalawa pa mula sa Davao City ang nakapasa na biosafety standards ng Singapore.

Nagpahayag na umano ang Singapore na handa itong tumanggap ng pork products mula sa Mindanao.

Dagdag ni Mercado, lubhang malaki ang market ng Singapore para sa karneng baboy mula sa Pilipinas dahil pinoproseso nila ang kanilang mga binibiling karne para i-export sa ibang bansa. (DE Doguiles/PIA 12) [top]
