4Ps advisory committee formed in Mt Province

Bontoc, Mt. Province (12 November) -- Provincial Governor Leonard G. Mayaen issued last October 12 Executive Order No. 32,s.2010 creating the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Provincial Advisory Committee in the province.

The 4Ps has been developed as a poverty reduction measure that provides conditional cash transfer to extreme poor households to allow the members of the families to meet certain human development goals set by the government.

To ensure effective implementation of this program, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) was tasked to lead the implementation of this program and to coordinate with other government agencies, the local government unit and non-government organizations.

The 4Ps provincial advisory committee is composed of the Governor as the chairperson and Vice Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan as the co-chairperson.

Members include Rosalinda of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Dr. Nenita D. Lizardo of the Provincial Health Office, Mary A. Lang-ayan of the Department of Education, Lily Rose Kollin of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, Rufina T. Fegcan of the Department of Interior and Local Government, Dr. Penelope A. Domogo - Provincial Nutrition Action Officer, Mary Ann Buclao -Regional Focal Person, and Erlinda K. Likigan - Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Team Leader.

The committee is tasked to oversee the over all implementation of 4Ps in the province and shall be responsible for fulfilling the commitment of the provincial government stipulated in the signed memorandum of agreement with the DSWD.

The Provincial government here recognizes the vital role in the provision of education, health and nutrition services to 4Ps beneficiaries thus it adopted the existing PCPC which also acts as the UNICEF Provincial Technical Working Group as the 4Ps Provincial Advisory Committee. (PIA-MP) [top]
