DILG re-schedules RPOC 8 meeting to November 26
Tacloban City (November 19) -- The Eastern Visayas Regional Peace and Order Council meeting scheduled to be held on November 19 has been postponed to November 26.
Department of Interior and Local Government Region 8 Director Francisco C. Jose informed in the afternoon of November 18, that in view of the request of the RPOC chairman and Leyte Governor Carlos Jericho L. Petilla, the Regional Peace and Order Council meeting on Friday, November 19, will be rescheduled to November 26, 9:00 o'clock in the morning at the Governor's Hall, Leyte Provincial Capitol, Tacloban City.
Director General Raul M. Bacalzo, chief of the Philippine National Police, is scheduled to grace the maiden meeting of the Regional Peace and Order Council of Eastern Visayas under the term of newly elected Chairman Leyte Governor Carlos Jericho L. Petilla.
The meeting will start with the call to order by Governor Petilla followed by the Declaration of quorum by DILG Director Francisco C. Jose, head of the RPOC Secretariat.
Chief Superintendent Arnold R. Revilla, Regional Director of the Philippine National Police Region 8, will introduce the guest of honor Director General Raul M. Bacalzo, the PNP chief.
Among the business for the day is the briefing on Eastern Visayas Criminality Situation by Chief Supt. Arnold R. Revilla. PNP 8 Director Revilla will also brief the body on the Crisis Management Committee.
Major General Mario F. Chan, commanding general of the 8th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army will give the briefing on the Eastern Visayas Internal Security Situation.
Furthermore, Regional Director Julius R. Navales of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency will brief the RPOC members on the Eastern Visayas Illegal Drugs Situation.
Governor Petilla called on the members of the RPOC in Region 8 to attend the meeting and help chart the strategies for the achievement of peace and development in Eastern Visayas Region. (PIA 8) [top]
