PNP: No threat of terror attacks in Capiz

by Jemin B. Guillermo

Roxas City (19 November) -- Capiz Police Deputy Provincial Director Mario Millaro assured Capiceņos that there is no threat on terrorism so far.

Millaro disclosed that based on their intelligence report, they have not received any terror threat in the province.

"Despite of this intelligence report, the Philippine National Police here is still on guard and continue to intensify our monitoring activities," he said.

Millaro's assurance was made during the Provincial Peace and Order Council meeting of Capiz which was presided over by Governor Victor Tanco yesterday.

On the other hand, 301st Brigade Commander Caesar Ronnie Ordoyo of the Philippine Army's 3rd Infantry Division likewise disclosed that they have not also monitored any threat on terror attack in the province.

Ordoyo, however, appealed for public support and cooperation as well as vigilance to safeguard the Capiceņos against any terror attacks.

"Peace and order must be everybody's concern," he said, adding that every citizen should \have his or her part in the conduct of information dissemination and advocacy especially on security preparedness.

Part of the agenda of said PPOC meeting was the review of the accomplishments of said council in relation to the Integrated Area Community Public Safety Plan which was formulated and adopted last year.

The PPOC of Capiz was reorganized after Governor Tanco has issued Executive Order No. 5, series of 2010. (PIA) [top]
