Lacson tops NBI-SarGen's most wanted list

by Pops Gumana-Fruylan

General Santos City (20 November) -- The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Sargen District Office revealed recently over a local radio station here that Sen. Panfilo Lacson who faces double murder charges in connection with the death of noted publicist Salvador "Bubby" Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito in November 2000, tops their list of most wanted persons.

NBI-SarGen said no less than NBI Director Magtanggol Gatdula sent them the list of top fugitives incase one of them is hiding in Region 12.

Next to Lacson, it said, is Prospero Antonio "Tony" Esquievel of Nueva Ecija who is facing murder charges with no recommended bail.

On Monday Justice Secretary Leila De Lima reminded the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to do their job without fear or favor even if the people involved are high-profile figures.

The DOJ has also created a "special elite team" from the NBI to track down Lacson and make him face the criminal charges filed against him. (PIA-SarGen) [top]
