Kapalong revives info quiz

Kapalong, Davao del Norte (26 November) -- The municipal government of Kapalong has revived the Information Quiz Bee as a way of infusing knowledge to local elementary and high students about their town.

In his message, Kapalong Mayor Edgardo L. Timbol congratulated the Community Development Information Center (CDIC) for spearheading the revival of the Information Quiz Bee in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA XI).

A total of 16 pupils took part in the elementary level quiz which ran in three rounds while ten high school students joined as contestants in the secondary level.

Aside from questions regarding the political, geographical, economic, socio-cultural aspects of Kapalong, the info quiz bee also included items of national significance.

Kapalong Info Quiz Bee was made possible through the sponsorship of the Mayor Timbol and Vice Mayor Romy Estrada.

The CDIC also got the support of Gaisano Mall, Graphica, Kits Medical Shop, Tess Beauty Salon and Daltan Printing.

On the other hand, the CDIC officially launched its Kapalong Infohub along with the oath-taking ceremony of the officers of "The Vigor Pen of Kapalong".

Kapalong CDIC recently organized the student writers of Kapalong and consolidated them together into a group of school journalists called The Vigor Pen of Kapalong.

Timbol pinned his hope on the pool of student writers to help the local government in informing the public of the good news regarding Kapalong. (PIA XI/jmda) [top]
