Philippine "lumpia" highlighted in international food fair
Manila (26 November) -- Philippine Chargé d'Affaires to Canada Minerva Jean A. Falcon successfully led the Philippine participation at the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) International Food Fair on November 16.
The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa served lumpiang gulay and lumpiang shanghai to more than 200 DFAIT employees who partook and enjoyed the feast during the food fair.
The International Food Fair was organized by DFAIT, in support of the annual Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign.
It is a partnership between DFAIT and members of the foreign diplomatic community in the national capital region, which provides an innovative way to both profile the diplomatic community in Ottawa and to raise funds for those most in need.
The tremendous success of the event was greatly helped by the active participation of around 50 Embassies and High Commissions, from providing, preparing and serving exotic and exquisite culinary delicacies to their immense generosity in donating door prizes.
The Philippine participation to the food fair was coordinated by Cultural Attaché Buenaflor K. Cruz. (PIA-MMIO) [top]
