3 Capiz info officers get awards

by Jemin B. Guillermo

Roxas City (3 December) -- Three government information officers in Capiz were recognized by the Philippine Information Agency 6 as among the Best Performing Information Officers in Western Visayas for 2010.

The awardees are Mary Jane Amigo of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Edward Basilonia of the Capiz Provincial Press Bureau and Police Officer 3 Donna Asmod of the Capiz Police Provincial Office.

PIA Director General Jose Fabia, Deputy Director General Virgilio Galvez and Regional Director Ma. Janet Mesa conferred the awards last December 1 during the year-end conference of information officers in Iloilo City.

Fabia and Galvez were the guests of honor during the event spearheaded by PIA Regional Office 6.

The three awardees were among the finalists from Capiz who vied for this year's awards.

The three others are Marlon Garbo of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Jeoffry Espiritu of the Provincial Health Office and Carlette Pretta of the Department of Agrarian Reform.

The six nominees are members of the Capiz Association of Government Public Information Officers (CAGPIO), Inc.

The year-end conference is an annual gathering of information officers from the various national government agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations and local government units in the region. (PIA) [top]
