BIR Zambo October collection hits P234-M, exceeds target

By Jocelyn P. Alvarez

Zamboanga City (3 December) -- Bureau of Internal Revenue Region No. 15, Zamboanga City collected a crispy P234,401,856.22 for the month of October alone exceeding its collection target by 8.03% or P17,420,856.22 over its goal of P216,981,000.

The October collection increased its actual collection by 17% or P34,137,852.68 as compared to last year's collection for the same month, states Hermie Gabasa, OIC Head, Tax Payers Assistance Unit in a press release.

Gabasa said, cumulative collection from January to October of this year has reached P2,390,790,141.56.

Gabasa said the high collection of taxes for the month of October is attributed to the persistent and active collection of taxes of its Revenue District Offices (RDOs) with RDO No. 96-Tawi-Tawi, RDO No. 94-Basilan province and RDO No. 93B-Zamboanga Sibugay as its top performers.

Meanwhile, BIR Regional Director Rozil Lozares thanked his staff during their Regional Staff Conference held recently for their joint efforts in achieving and exceeding collection target for October 2010. (JPA/ PIA) [top]
