SBHS Batch '85 donates cash to Cancer Warriors Foundation

Calamba City (3 December) -- The Saint Bridget High School (SBHS) Batch 1985 donated P20,000 recently to the Cancer Warriors Foundation (CWF) as it take part in the program for the Awareness Run for Organ Donor.
CWF representative Mitzi Ilagan along with some cancer patients and their parents accepted the donation solicited from the members of Batch 85 and participants at the Awareness Run for Organ Donor.
Ilagan expressed gratitude for the donation, saying it would greatly help the cancer patients in their medication. She also requested the continouos support of Batch 85' and the participants of the program.
Part of the Awareness Run for Organ Donor was a lecture on organ donation. Grace Saguitan of the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) explained the right procedures in kidney donation and emphasized that the law prohibits what they call "kidney for sale." She advised everyone who would want to donate to deal directly to the NKTI.
Representatives from the Eye Bank Foundation (EBF) talked on eye donation and urged people to be eye donors in the future. They also shown an audio-visual presentation on the procedure of cornea donation and distributed organ donor cards.
The Awareness Run for Organ Donor was participated in by students from the Saint Bridget College Department, and nursing students from Bangas State University (BSU) and Golden Gate Colleges (GGC).
Now on its 25th anniversary reunion, SBHS Batch'85 with president Ariel Aguila, an engineer and Anna Palacios-Alcantara, project committee chairman slated the Awareness Run for Organ Donor.
